Our New Members
Dear Members
I hope everyone is aware of, or has actually seen our New Members, the family Dikkop.
Pat has taken upon himself to ensure they are at home.
He posted these pictures to me of the ramp he constructed to help the twins get over the court perimeter wall.
Great stuff Pat.

The Annual Club Dinner and Prize Giving
41 one people attended and Luigi, who was unable to come due to work commitments, suprised us by dropping in for drinks. Also attending were Ingrid and Cheryl.
Roger was a gallant M.C, although talking in a noisy restaurant is not easy, and he introduced the winners of the Championships.
After the main course, Roger presented special category prizes. "The penguin" went to the best dressed lady of the evening. Other prizes presented, were "the never say die horse" to Gus and the "voodoo doll" to Gavin.
The Chairman presented 4 special prizes, a bottle of wine each to Roger and Neville for extra work done for the Club, organizing the Box League and dealing with the Council over rates.
A box of chocolates were presented to 'Old Friends', Cheryl Ingrid and Ralph

Spring
Dear Members
Spring is almost here. The Club held a bring and Braai and social tennis on Heritage day.
There was a good turn out and the weather was superb, lots of tennis was played and a great braai followed.
The August Box League results were posted and a new Box will start for Sept- Nov.
Top of Box 1 was Tobie
Top of Box 2 was Charl
Top of Box 3 was Carol
Hopefully swallows will be returning soon and injuries will abate, allowing more participants.
The Maintainance Committee has put new drainage on court 1, which was subject to constant water
running across the court.
Finally please note the Club Dinner is likely to be on Oct 20th which is a Sunday.
Regards
Nick

Pictures of the New Moon and Venus
Roger Trythall has posted these pictures of the New Moon and Venus.
Box League has begun in earnest I believe Gus and Mike Wolffe had victories.
I am playing with some friends from Austria early mornings before it gets too humid, dodging mosquitoes.
Nearest tennis court is 25 k away.
Nick
