Shiraz will now play Eric in the first Semi-Final.

In the second Semi-Final Gus will play Tobie.

2) Ladies' Singles Semi-Final, Glynis Gillott bt Anita Prendergast
6-3, 6-0.

Glynis will now play Carol in the Final.

3) Mixed Doubles Quarter-Final, Russel Dor & Anita Prendergast bt Nick
Fredman & Marianne Wicht 6-3, 6-0.

Russel & Anita will now meet Tobie & Wendy in the Semi-Final.

The Winners of this match will play Eric & Carol in the Final.




The Ladies' Doubles Final will take place this Sunday.

Wendy Fredman and Glynis Gillot will play Cheryl Anderson and Ingrid Arenson.

Gus Millner bt Charles Rickens 6-4, 6-3

Gus will now play Tobie Mynhardt in the Semi-Final, 


Tobie  beat Dave Darlington  6-0, 6-2

Tickets are already selling fast.

In the second Semi-Final Eric Welz will play the winner of Geoff Cohen & Shiraz Cerfontein.

Mixed Doubles

In the first Semi-Final Eric Welz & Carol Coetzee bt Shiraz Cerfontein & Cheryl Anderson 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Quarter-Final

Eric Welz & Stuart Collier bt Craig Ray & Pat Josephson 6-1, 6-0

Semi-Final

Tobie Mynhardt & Shiraz Cerfontein bt Charles Rickens & Carl Rickens 6-2, 6-2

Tobie & Shiraz will now play the Winners of Eric & Stuart v Russel & Ron in the Final.

Veterans Doubles

Charl Dreyer and Nick Fredman beat Fred Strebel and Soren Elver- Jensen

4-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Charl and Nick will now play Mark and Richard Perry on Tuesday.

The winners will go through to the final to play Charles and Ben.

1) Men's Open Doubles

Charles Rickens & Carl Rickens bt Gus Millner & Geoff Cohen 2-6, 7-6, 7-5


Carl then went straight back on court to play his Men's Open Singles match (oh the joys of youth)

2) Men's Open Singles

Shiraz Cerfontein bt Carl Rickens 4-6, 6-4, 7-5

3) Mixed Doubles

Eric Welz & Carol Coetzee bt Richard Bacon & Glynis Gillott 7-5, 6-1


Tobie Mynhardt & Wendy Fredman beat Gus Millner and Nadine Jocum 6-2, 6-4


And in an earlier match in the Mens' Open Singles Tobie Mynhardt bt Nicolo Pudel 6-0, 6-0

Club Champs

Match play at the Club is gaining momentum.
The most curious match so far was between Gus Darel, Charls and Ben, and the wind.
The wind was howling but the combatants battled it out in a 3 setter that saw eventual victory to Charls and Ben for the next stage in the Men's Vet's Doubles.

There are some exciting matches coming up. Come down to the courts and support great tennis.

These are the results so far:

First Round: James and Ted beat Nick and Charl ..... 6-3, 6-7, 6-4.

Quarter Final: Shiraz and Tobie beat James and Ted.....6-4, 6-1.

No matches played but we only have 4 pairs so no rush.

Again not many entries so no rush, Vanessa will play Anita when she is back from her trip next week.
